Cairo Passes is a research and information service. Our plans give you verified, current data and expert guidance built from on-the-ground visits — not recycled content from other websites.
Free guides cover the basics. Our plans cover the specifics that determine whether your trip goes smoothly or not — the things you only know after visiting 40 times, at every hour of the day, across every season.
Egyptian site fees change multiple times per year without international press coverage. We verify against the Supreme Council of Antiquities official schedule on a rolling basis. You will not arrive to discover the price has doubled since whatever website you consulted last.
Every time estimate in our plans comes from actual timed visits. We note the difference between how long a guide says a site takes and how long it actually takes — which at Karnak, for example, is almost always twice as long as claimed.
We do not recommend specific tour operators, hotels, or transport companies unless asked directly and without compensation. Our revenue comes from plan sales, not referrals. Your recommendations are shaped only by what we have found to work best on the ground.
Every plan includes a clear, honest assessment of physical accessibility at each site — including which sections are reachable by wheelchair, where golf carts are available, and where the terrain is genuinely demanding. This is not something standard travel resources cover adequately.
All prices in US dollars. Payment after request confirmation. Egyptian pounds accepted for clients paying locally in Cairo.

Each plan is a customised research document and, depending on the tier, a direct consultation session with a member of our team. It covers the specific sites you plan to visit, current entry prices verified against the official SCA schedule, recommended visit timing, practical on-the-ground logistics, and accessibility notes. It is not a booking service — we do not sell tickets or tours. We sell information, which is far more valuable when it comes from people who were at the sites last week.
Standard plans (Explorer) are delivered within 5 business days. Comprehensive (Traveller) and Expert Consultation plans are delivered within 3 business days of the session, with the live session typically scheduled within 7 days of your request. If you have an urgent departure date, note it in your message and we will do our best to expedite delivery without compromising the research quality.
Yes. Our coverage extends across all seven major travel regions of Egypt: Greater Cairo and the Pyramid fields, Luxor's East and West Banks, Aswan and Nubia, Alexandria and the Northern Mediterranean Coast, the Fayoum Oasis, the Western Desert oases (Siwa, Bahariya, Dakhla, and Farafra), and the Sinai Peninsula including St. Catherine's Monastery and the Gulf of Aqaba coast. Any of these regions can be included in a Traveller or Expert plan. The Explorer plan covers one defined region.
Yes. If you start with the Explorer plan and decide you want a live consultation or full-itinerary document, contact us and we will apply the original payment as credit toward the higher tier. There is no penalty or surcharge for upgrading. We prefer this to clients purchasing an Expert plan upfront when they are not sure they need it — start with Explorer and scale up if the planning session reveals greater complexity.
Particularly so. Repeat visitors often want to go beyond the standard circuit — off-the-beaten-path tombs in the Theban Necropolis, newly opened excavation areas at Saqqara, less-visited temples between Luxor and Aswan (Esna, Edfu, Kom Ombo), or deep-desert itineraries in the Western oases. Our Traveller and Expert plans can be scoped specifically around second and third visits. Tell us which sites you have already seen and we will build around the gaps.
Yes — and this is an area where our plans provide substantially more detail than standard travel resources. Accessibility assessment is a standard component of all Cairo Passes plans: surface conditions, step counts, gradient percentages, ramp availability, wheelchair access, and the availability of golf-cart transport at larger sites such as Karnak and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Our Head of Editorial, Leila Farouk, is a certified mobility-access auditor and developed the framework used across all our reviews.
After submitting your request through our contact form, we send a secure payment link to your email address within one business day. We accept international Visa, Mastercard, and SWIFT bank transfer (useful for corporate clients). Payment is required before delivery of the plan document. For the Expert Consultation tier, payment is due before the session date is confirmed. We do not store card details on our systems; all payments are processed via a PCI-DSS compliant gateway.
Submit a request and we will confirm your plan details and send a payment link within one business day. No commitment required to enquire.
